Lightfoot's double-double lands him (Second Stage) Player of the Week award

American Forward Jaquan Lightfoot (203-F) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Titanes del Licey and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
He had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while his team was edged out by Caneros (11-7) 73-70. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Titanes maintains the 2nd position in Dominican Rep. league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier in Second Stage. Titanes will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 11-7 record. Lightfoot turned to be Titanes' top player in his first season with the team. Jaquan Lightfoot averages just after three games 12.3ppg and 7.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Sterling Manley (213-F/C-1998) of top-ranked Reales de La Vega. He is American forward in his first season at Reales. In the last game Manley recorded an impressive double-double of 17 points and 22 rebounds. Bad luck as Reales lost that game 84-95 to slightly lower-ranked Metros (#3, 11-7). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Reales still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. His team has currently 12-6 record. Manley is a newcomer at Reales and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Yuat Alok (211-C-1997) of Marineros de Puerto Plata (#6). Alok scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Despite Alok's great performance the Marineros lost 85-107 to slightly higher-ranked Indios (#5, 9-8). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Marineros not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 12 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Alok could try to bring Marineros' a little bit higher in the standings. Alok has a very solid season. In 3 games in Dominican Republic he scored 16.7ppg.
